Mixed Fortunes for the Cherokees - (Sat 29/11/2008)
On the 29th November the U10 Cherokees played against Slough at home. This was my first home match and was very exciting. As the U14s played after us, there was a good crowd of supporters. Slough did not bring a full team and in the first half they powered ahead with their very good first line so at half time it was 8-0 to them despite some brilliant saves by our goalies Ellie and Robert. My third line had to play against their second line players and they were very fast, but we did very well to disrupt their play. In the second half, Chelmsford fought back valiantly and managed to score 3 goals giving a final score of 17-3 to Slough. However, Slough had to forfeit the match so technically the final scoreline was 8-0 to Chelmsford. This meant that we were still at the top of the League! After the match we had a wonderful buffet in the bar and Sam Jackson was awarded our Man of the Match and chief biscuit-eater whilst I was given Spirit of the Game and chief Pepsi guzzler. We then stayed to watch some of the U14 game – very impressive! It was a great Saturday and I can’t wait for our next fixture.

Under 8's
On Saturday 27th September 2008 I played ice hockey for the Chelmsford Cherokees who went to Guildford to play in a cross ice game.
The Under 8 team played 3 games. When we were not playing we went in the middle of the ice and did some fun stuff. Playing with me was Josh C, Ben, Tom P and Evan and we had some players from some other teams join us they were from Invicta and Guildford and we all played against Bracknell. In the first game I shared the goal and Bracknell did not score against me at all I had my first ever SHUT OUT in my first game as a goalie.
I was very happy so was my mummy and my stepdad Dave. Dave is our coach. In the next game I played in goal for Bracknell and let in 1 goal that was the only one.
In the last game I went in goal first then I swapped with the Invicta goalie and we had another SHUT OUT. Ben scored his first ever goal so he was very happy too.
We forgot to do gloves in. Dave said well done to all of us. We all had a lot of fun.

Under 10's
My name is Josh and this is my first season as an Under 10 for the Cherokees. At Guildford last Saturday the Under 10’s played cross ice games against Guildford, Bracknell and Invicta. We tied our first game and the rest we won. My team mates scored lots of goals. I scored a couple of goals. This was the first time I have scored in a match and it was great. My Mum and Dad were well impressed. We played for an hour and we didn’t stop. It was fun and I am looking forward to playing more games in the next few months.
